Date of Passing ~ February 20, 2025
It is with broken hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of our loved one Andy Miller. Andy died peacefully with his wife by his side on February 20, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer.
Andy will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Laurie; his children, Kristjan and Genevieve, Holly and Steven; his grandchildren, Allie and Nolan; his parents, Celoris and John; his siblings, Susanna and Cam, Sara and Chris, Dan and Amy, Joanna and Chris; his nieces and nephews, Paul, Tasha and Hannah, Tim, Braeden, Keithan and Skylar, Zachary and Samantha, Addie and Brett; and many more family and friends.
“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.” This describes Andy so well. He was definitely not a typical child - not a student, not sports-minded, not one to hang out with the crowd. But he became much more. An artist - gifted in many different mediums including painting, caricatures, and sculpting. He was a singer - blessed with a beautiful baritone voice, singing with his wife in duets and choirs and in the family singing group. He was an actor - adding his special personality in many amateur productions (beginning by playing “Winthrop” in a Hollow Mug show!) He was a Suzuki violinist in his early years and could pick up any instrument and play it. He was a birder in his later years, delighting in identifying, photographing and feeding backyard birds. He was a movie aficionado and could remember and expound on them (the acting, directing, the music, etc.) from the 40’s through to the present. He was a music lover, spending many hours listening to all kinds of music from classical to jazz to rock. He was a camper who enjoyed nature and spending time at the campground. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, family member and friend.
Andy loved life and lived each moment to the fullest despite the many challenges that came with his lengthy illness. He was a funny, upbeat, optimistic soul and excellent at sharing those qualities with family and friends. He will be so missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
